Early White House Down Review!

'White House Down' Review

‘White House Down’ is the new action film that is yet to be released but I had the chance to see an early screening for it. It features stars: Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx and shadowed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and Richard Jenkins with smaller roles. Prior to the movie, I really did not expect anything which was a smart move, I’ll explain later… but it really just looked like a copy cat of the early 2013 movie, ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ with Gerard Butler. And really that is exactly what it was, an exact replica with just a few tweaks of characters, and little side plots that altered it from being the same film. Also, the president was more ballsy in this film thanks to Foxx and his character’s action contributions. In comparison of the villains of both movies, I would definitely say that ‘White House Down’ has a better villain and this paramilitary group sets up a better ride and twist throughout the whole story. What I was impressed with was the amount of action ‘W.H.D” had in it, when going head to head with ‘O.H.F’ it owns the victory when it comes to the amount of fighting scenes and sequences, and most of them were done well. One of the cons of this movie was the acting, its look-a-like early 2013 movie had better acting probably just because they casted Gerard Butler. I thought Channing Tatum was mediocre, just like everybody else’s performances. In the end, I would really rate it under 3/5 stars, possibly even as low as 2.5/5. I would recommend as something to see if you are the type of person that will just see anything with action in it. If you have nothing to do one night over the weekend, you might want to check it out. I am very interested to hear about the opinions around the internet, so to let me know what you thought about it, please comment, and follow us on tumblr.
